Day 8 - Circle Up

Day 8's challenge was to include a minimum of 10 circles on the card. I was struggling to come up with an idea that would not look too busy but still will work for this challenge. Luckily I went out for dinner today and Impress store was right there. So I walked by the store, which was my routine. I saw this string of circles there and I got the idea immediately. But I still needed a background. I tried few stamps that would be good as light backgrounds and finally ended up with this card.
Again, please leave me feedback on how you like it and if you have any suggestions to improve. Your comments are valuable to me. :)

This card is dedicated to a friend of mine Suhana, who is in India.

Day 7 - Color Scheme

The task for Day 7 was to stick to three colors and create a card. The three colors were the following.
So I was wondering what to make. Tried different options and finally ended up with this card. The stamp was from Impress Rubber stamps from when I took a class there. Somehow it worked well with the violet color. And the teal color background blended well. Let me know how you like it by leaving your comments.

This one is dedicated to my friend, whose name should stay anonymous but has been stressed in the recent times.

Day 6 - Keep it simple

Day 6 challenge was to make a simple card using one stamp, one piece of patterned paper and three embellishments. Yesterday was a rough day for me, so didn't get to making a card. So I figured I will make that card today.

By now, you know I love flowers and I love bright colors. And one more thing you will notice as a pattern is that I use a lot of sentiments on friendship. Well, all I have is friends and family in my life right now. :) So that is what I have used for this card. I used the sentiment stamp and I one patterned paper and I used three flowers. The orange flower I made with Sizzix Blossoms diecut and I used the orange card stock paper with orange and white polka dot pattern paper.

This card is dedicated to all the friends who have been part of my life. Especially my support system, Sudha Reddy, Gomathi and Sudha Palli.

Day 5: Splattered

Today's challenge was Splattered : To create a splatter paint effect. I loved this challenge. It was like giving water colors to a kid and asking them to play with it. That is just what I did.

Also given it is the Holi on March 8th. For people who do not know, it is the festival of Colors, celebrated in India. Typically we play with all colors on this day. I thought this card was appropriate for the occasion. So I used multiple colors splattered all over the card. I could not find a stamp that said Holi, so left it with "Celebrate". Tried with alphabet stamps but the letters were coming too far off and I did not like the look of it. Here is the card. Take a look and let me know if your feedback.

Happy Holi Everyone !! This one is dedicated to all the Colors lovers out there, and all the Indians celebrating Holi !!

Day 4: Super Sketchy Sunday

This, I thought was an easier one, when I started as there was already a layout that I needed to adhere to. Here is today's sketch.

But when I started making the card, I could not decide which color to use, what to use for the three lines at the top - twines, laces, paper ? Then I went with an idea that came up casually during a conversation with Chaitali yesterday - stitching the card. So I decided to stitch the card today. And I decided to go with the most non-coordinating colors and make them work. Actually both the Pretty in pink card and this card, I made it the same way. Let's see how everyone likes it.
It is hard to see the lines in this picture, but you can slightly see it if you can enlarge the pic. This one goes to 365 Days : Day 4: Super Sketchy Sunday challenge

Day 3 : Pretty in Pink

Day 3 challenge was to use 3 shades of pink on the card. So I went with the following three shades. The flower was not expected. I made it with one of the designer paper I had, but was not thinking of this card when I made the flower. Thanks to Stamping up punch, making the flowers was easier. I punched 4 different layers of petals and used a brad to hold it together. I just stamped the background with a stamp I got from Impress, which seemed to blend well with the theme I had. I picked all non-coordinating pink shades but still the card came out well, I thought. Let me know your feedback.

This one is dedicated to my girl friend Mythreyi, who loves every shade of pink there is and makes the color look pretty.
